Simon Paterson, Head of Audit and Accountancy, FCCA

When he’s not on the golf course, Simon leads the accountancy division within Robert James! He was RJP’s second employee and has seen the firm develop and win many industry awards since he joined in 1996.

Simon specialises in audit and business advisory services and works closely with owner managed businesses in a coaching role. He acts as a virtual FD for many clients and his guidance has been instrumental in helping businesses achieve their personal and business goals.

Simon Paterson qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1996 and has been an audit partner with Robert James Partnership since 2001.

<Lesley Stalker, Head of Tax, CTA, ATT

Lesley Stalker is head of tax at Robert James Partnership. Since founding Robert James’ tax practice over 10 years ago, Lesley has played an instrumental role in developing this area of the firm’s business. Today over half of all Robert James’ clients come to the firm for strategic tax planning.

Lesley’s specialist expertise includes strategic tax planning for business, in particular exit strategy planning, mergers and acquisitions. She also provides tax advice for high net worth individuals in the areas of property tax, IHT and CGT planning.

Jamie Constable, Corporate Finance Partner, FCCA

Jamie founded his own practice, Constable James, in 1990. He formed Robert James in 1996 with the merger of Constable James and a London-based practice. A Chartered Certified Accountant with expertise in corporate finance, Jamie deals with all aspects of business growth and development, from strategic planning to turnaround finance. In addition to his work with Robert James Partnership, Jamie also runs a successful Private Equity firm RCapital (www.rcapital.co.uk) which specialises in both growth and turnaround investments.

Paul Webb, Tax Partner, CTA, ATT

Paul Webb is RJP’s resident web expert and loves to find excellent freeware to use and improve the firm’s communications. Paul is a tax partnerand originally joined RJP in 1998. He specialises in identifying and developing tax planning strategies for individuals and companies alike. In particular Paul works with clients looking to implement tax efficient employee share scheme structures.

Paul is a qualified Chartered Tax Advisor and a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians.

Jamie Spears, Outsourcing Manager, MAAT

Jamie Spears heads the managed services function which provides a very wide range of outsourced services to our clients. Since joining in 2000 Jamie has worked closely with clients to understand exactly where they typically need to outsource business functions and how best to provide these managed services.

For many clients, Jamie fulfils the role of part time Finance Director to ensure the company takes a longer term view of financial performance management with detailed metrics.

When not in the office Jamie can be found pursuing various sporting activities whether participating or as a spectator.

Jamie Spears is a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians and a part-qualified Chartered Certified Accountant.

Anne Eager, Enquiries Manager, CTA, ACA

Anne Eager is the Enquiries Manager at Robert James Partnership. As the powers given to HMRC and the emphasis placed upon policing compliance has become more aggressive, Anne has become specialised in dealing with the resulting investigations.

In recent years Anne has helped many businesses deal effectively with HMRC enquiries. Anne also has a wealth of experience in dealing with construction businesses and advising on compliance with the CIS rules and subcontractor status.

Anne is a qualified Chartered Tax Advisor and Accountant
