Welcome to our July LiveWire. This month sees a victory for SME's in the form of the verdict from the House of Lords in the Arctic Systems Case. The House of Lords has ruled in favour of the taxpayer and rejected HMRC’s attempt to introduce a tax hike for thousands of businesses by reinterpreting the law on dividends payments retrospectively. Whilst this is a welcome ruling it does beg the question as to what action, if any, H M Revenue and Customs will take next. We will of course keep you posted! As ever we would love to hear from you if there are any topics you would like to see featured in future editions of LiveWire! Kind regards Lesley Stalker |
