Welcome to our April LiveWire

The abolition of the 10p rate of tax has caused political uproar and it looks like pressure from the Labour backbenchers had forced the Government to think again on this issue.

Ideas being considered to compensate those groups who are set to lose out include an increase in the Winter Fuel Payment and increases in the National Minimum Wage. An increase in the minimum wage will of course be favoured by the Government as it places the cost of the compensation package on the employer.

If you are concerned how this or any of the other Budget changes will impact on your tax position please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind regards
