Welcome to our September LiveWire.

Speculation continues to grow that Gordon Brown will call a snap general election this autumn and rumours that Labour have recruited key personnel to work on their election campaign will do nothing to dampen the flames.

However results from last nights council by-election results, in which the Conservatives gained a seat, indicate that nationally the Tory party should have a lead of 6.2% over Labour.

In any event, an election is unlikely to happen before the new Chancellor Alistair Darling presents his first Pre-Budget speech in October. With environmental issues firmly on the agenda expect more “green taxes” as well as the usual round of “family friendly” measures.

As ever we would love to hear from you if there are any topics you would like to see featured in future editions of LiveWire!

Kind regards
