Welcome to April's edition of LiveWire which is a special Budget Edition.

The Budget was a missed opportunity for the chancellor to provide some much needed help to small and medium sized businesses.

Whilst we welcome measures such as the extension of the Business Payment Support Service, the 40% first year allowance for additional capital purchases and the extending of the loss carry back provisions the Chancellor could, and should have gone further.

Furthermore the personal tax increases will leave many business owners and entrepreneurs feeling that they are the ones paying for others mistakes.

Our lead article discusses the Budget in more detail as well as suggesting some interesting planning opportunities that business owners may now wish to consider in light of these announcements.
